Here she is. Isn’t she gorgeous?
This is the hard ink copy of The Valley of the Mystic Moon. I printed it out is for final proofing. My wife and I have found that a book reads completely different when all the chapters are assembled as one book and read as one book, instead of as 24 separate files read on a computer screen. We catch errors and jumbled sentences that we overlooked in the last twelve readings.
Besides, the book now exists in tangible form. So, if the power goes out, or if my neighbor experiments with electronics and launches an electromagnetic pulse through my apartment, Valley still exists. It would be a pain to retype 99,600 words, but that’s better than reconstructing 99,600 words from memory.
